Rachel’s Unique Gift Shoppe * Est. 2008

A humble cabinet.

A family story.

A generational promise.

A hand-made hutch, crafted with loving hands. Designed by William Countaway, and cherished by Betty Lou Countaway.

My late Grandmother’s hutch now graces my kitchen. It holds my china, both of my ‘babies’ first odds ‘n ends, and some antique family dinnerware.

Its middle shelf is my Shoppe, filled with my own hand-made gifts. When a loved one receives a voucher to visit my Shoppe, they are invited to experience a promise of friendship and joy. Tea is served, a gift is chosen and carefully wrapped, and my guests are sent on their way, hands and heart full.

I once passed a wooden bench on a neighbor’s front lawn. On it, the painted words, “Welcome Friend,” beckoned the passerby. I was touched by this gesture, and I cradled the warm invitation in my heart for days. What an amazing way to show the world the kind of person one aspires to be.

My heart, home and hutch are open to you.

Welcome Friend.
